YORK Margaret Jackson, 74, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at York Hospital. Margaret was born in Bamberg, S.C., on September 11, 1938, to the late Benjamin and Leda (Benson) Jamison. Margaret was educated in Bamberg, S.C., and she enjoyed singing, cooking, ushering, and taking care of children. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory five sons, James Jackson, Lanse Jackson and wife, Catrina, Louis Jackson, Daryin Jackson, and Michael Green, all of York; six daughters, Earlean Lowrie and husband, Russell, Martherine Harris and husband, Anthony, Theresa James and husband, Norris, and Angela Holmes and husband, Stephon, all of York, Dorothy Way and husband, Kelly of Chesapeake, Va., and Quanisha Overmiller and husband, Bradley of Richmond, Va.; six brothers, Pastor Robert Jamison and wife, Rebecca, Joe Jamison and wife, Alise, William Jamison and wife, Oletha, and Charles Jamison, all of York, and William Toomer, and Richard Jamison with Eula Mae, both of Bamberg, S.C.; four sisters, Mary Jamison, Pearl Stokes, Annette Dowling, and Eartha McMillan, wife of Roy, all of York; 49 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two god-daughters, Theresa Ellis and Monica Thompson; special friend, James Jackson, father of the children; nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Everlee Jamison, Eddie Lee Toomer, Ernest Jamison, James Louis Jamison, and Lonnie Toomer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Fairview Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, 465 S. Pine St., York 17401 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul R. Lee, officiating. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial is in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York. Boulding Mortuary, Inc., is handling arrangements.
