Much to the sorrow of those who will miss her, MAYBELLE J. SNYDER passed on to Heaven above on November 24, 2016 at the Brethren Home in New Oxford. She was born January 18, 1922, in Middleburg, PA to James and Jennie (Benfer) Heintzelman. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert H. Snyder; a daughter, Monica Anne Narehood; and two brothers, Ronald and Larry Heintzelman. She previously resided in York, Bendersville and Hanover. She is survived by a daughter, Stacia N. Gates and her husband, Samuel of Spring Grove; Connie Troutman and her husband, Ron of New Park; grandchildren, Eric James Bievenour and wife, Nancy of Wilmington, DE, Alicia Ann Hensley and her husband, Steven of Red Lion, Samuel A. and Gretchen Gates, Sharon I. Gates, Steven and Amy Gates; as well as great-grandchildren, Summer, Grant, Sarah, Rachel, Tyler and Ian.
Maybelle worked for the York Telephone Company for 15 years before retiring to a farm in Bendersville. After her husband's passing she moved to Hanover and worked for a time at Gates and Gates.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hanover.
Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc. A service will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St,, Hanover,with the Rev. Joshua Rhone officiating. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Bendersville Cemetery.
