RENO, NV Ned Stein Stump was born September 15, 1938, in Red Lion, to Harry E. Stump and Mary A. Stein, the youngest of four sons. He passed into the loving arms of his Savior on September 7, 2013, in Reno, NV. After graduating from high school, Ned completed a four year tour in the U.S. Air Force serving in Grand Rapids, MN., where he met his first wife, Carol and raised two daughters. He was a avid reader of all things American history and military, especially aviation, both military and civilian. Ned is proceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Harry Jr., and his daughter, Coby Whirley. He is survived by a daughter, Kelly Gillespie (MN); his brothers, Max (PA) and Palmer (CA); five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his wife, Pat of 35 years and stepsons, Gregory and Tamara Lester (NV) and Michael and Sunny Lester (SD). Ned and Pat have been long time members of Sparks United Methodist Church, where a memorial service will be held at a later date.
