SPRING GROVE Norma J. (Sweitzer) Esaley, 87, passed away on May 12, 2013, at manor Care South in York. She was the loving wife of George E. Easley, who passed away in 1992. Norma was born in York County on March 5, 1926 and was the daughter of Bruce E. Sweitzer and Elva (fink) Sweitzer. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. She was a longtime member of St Jacobs Lutheran Church in York New Salem. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn L. Hershey and her husband, Richard of Spring Grove; her son-in-law, Harold Tipton of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Michele Tipton, Charles Brent Tipton, Melissa Kelley and husband, Tim, and Mary Steely and husband, Brad; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn Swartz, Nathan Steely, Angelina Tipton and Dustin Tipton; and her great-great-granddaughter Madison Rummel. She is also survived by her brother, Bruce Sweitzer Jr. and her sister Doris Wolf, both of York New Salem. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Tipton in 1979. Following cremation a memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Irwin-beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N Main St., Spring Grove with Rev. Gante officiating. Interment will be held privately by the family. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
