NEW OXFORD Paul S. Leppo, Jr, 93, died Monday, November 12, 2012, at Colonial Manor in York. He was the husband of Bertha I. (Kohler) Leppo, who died April 26, 2012. Paul was born September 16, 1919, in Hanover, the son of the late Paul S. and Anna (Musselman) Leppo, Sr. Paul was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Oxford, a 1937 graduate of Eichelberger High School, and he served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a tank Sgt, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was active for over 50 years with Boy Scout Troop #85 in New Oxford, served as treasurer for the Cub Scouts in New Oxford for over 20 years, coached little league baseball and church softball, and was a member of the New Oxford Lions Club, and V.F.W. Post #14 in Hanover. He enjoyed bowling and meeting his friends for breakfast and dinner at McDonalds. Paul is survived by a son, Lynn E. Leppo and his wife, Jane of Levittown; a daughter, Lana E. Brenneman and her husband, Neil of Dallastown; seven grandchildren, Christopher L. Leppo, Thaddeus W. Snyder, Michael D. Leppo, Nathan P. Snyder, Jason S. Snyder, Andrew P. Leppo, and Zachary E. St. John; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Gladys Leppo; and two brothers, Raymond and John Leppo. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 Lincolnway East, New Oxford, with his pastor, the Rev. Cynthia A. Chambers officiating. Burial will be in New Oxford Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons. Military honor will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
