YORK Pauline Elaine (Carter) Brown, 68, entered into rest on Friday, April 5, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. Pauline was the widow of Joe Louis Brown. She was born in Orange, Va., on December 13, 1944, to the late Clyde L. and Elizabeth (Carter) Johnson. Pauline was a cook for more than 20 years at Ember's Restaurant; some of her hobbies were bingo, puzzle books, playing cards and spending time with her family. Pauline is survived by two sons, Michael Carter and Joe Brown, Jr.; two daughters, Angela Brown and Sarah Brown-Woods; a brother Samuel Carter; two sisters, Kattie Starkes and Mary Bright; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a godson, Michael Coleman; and a host of other family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by two brothers. A celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 474 S. Pershing Ave., York, PA 17401 and a viewing will be prior to service from 9 to 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Aaron A. Willford, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery, Annville.
