RED LION Ray T. Parsons, 79, formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013, at York Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan A. (Ferracci) Parsons, who passed away on September 28, 2009. Mr. Parsons was born on March 22, 1934, in Chatham, Va., the son of the late John and Fannie (Price) Parsons. He retired as a truck driver. He enjoyed feeding and watching birds as well as gardening and growing tomatoes. In his younger years he enjoyed motorcycles. Ray is survived by his four daughters, Jennifer Smith and her husband, Andrew of Dallastown, Pamela Sowards of Dundalk, Md., Dorothy Barnes of Dundalk, Md., and Cynthia Smith and her husband Rick of Bel Air, Md. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Parsons. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will held at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown at 11 a.m. on Friday with the Rev. Roger Mentzer officiating. Family and friends will have a time to share memories and an opportunity to view from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment to follow will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
