YORK On Thursday, February 21, 2013, Rebecca (Parker) Nimmons made a peaceful transition to her eternal rest. Rebecca was born on March 31, 1930, in Blackville, S.C., to the late Hubert and Mamie Parker, she was 82 years old. Rebecca was educated through the Blackville, S.C., School System. She relocated to York at an early age. Ms. Rebecca was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she was an active and faithful member. She served as an usher and was a member of the Senior Saints Ministry. Ms. Rebecca is survived by a daughter, Ruthel Copeland husband, Bishop Richard Copeland of Orangeburg, S.C.; a son, Jesse Nimmons of York; five sisters, Ida Nimmons, Caretha Hutto, Blanche Andrews, Dorothy (Calton) Shaw and Remell Parker; a special niece, Betty Smith; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by Samuel Parker, Cornell Parker, Sr. Pernell Parker, James Parker, John Parker, Hubert Parker, Landy Parker, and Minnie Parker. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church, 740 W. Locust St., York, with the Rev. Jasmin W. Sculark officiating. A viewing will be held prior to service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery, York. Boulding Mortuary Inc. is handling arrangements.
