EAST YORK Richard G. McVey, 83, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Manor Care Health Services Dallastown. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth A. (Collier) McVey. He was born on February 22, 1930, in Lancaster County. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Edith (Tomilson) McVey, as well as three sisters, Jane (McVey) Lyter, Evelyn (McVey) Wilson, and Betty (McVey) Smith. In addition to his wife, Mr. McVey is survived by a son, Richard D. McVey of River Forest, Illinois; two daughters, Kathleen E. (McVey) Dorothy of New London and Karen E. (McVey) Witte of York; and three grandchildren, Chad M. Kagen, Jett V. Witte, and Jaegar V. Witte Mr. McVey worked as a Quality Control Supervisor for Caterpillar in York, until he retired in 1987. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, dancing, reading, collecting coins, and playing cards. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of life is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York. The family will receive friends and have an opportunity to share memories on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Thursday 9 to 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to
