JEFFERSON Robert E. Rebert, 83, passed away at 5:41 a.m. on December 8, 2013, at his home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Lucreta J. (Senft) Rebert, who passed away in 2005. Bob was born at home on the family farm on July 26, 1930, and was the son of the late Jonathan and Sarah (Depfer) Rebert. He graduated from Codorus Township High School Class of 1948. He worked as a farmer on the family farm that he was born on, raised on and died on. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he cherished the time he spent with his family. He was a lifetime member of Christ United Church of Christ in Jefferson, a devoted member of the Jefferson Fire Co. , where he was the Fire Chief from 1971-1983. He was a charter member of Jefferson Sportsman Assoc., and a former member of Jefferson Brothers of the Brush, Jefferson Baseball Assoc., Friendship Hose Co. of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, York County Democratic Club, a board member of Jefferson Cemetery Assoc. and he served on the Jefferson Advisory Board of Peoples Bank from 1965-2000. He is survived by his son, Robert E. Rebert II and wife Shirl of Jefferson; his two daughters, Carla J. Rebert of Jefferson and Karen J. Smith and husband Eddie of Spring Grove; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and one brother. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ United Church of Christ, 32 Baltimore St., Codorus, with Pastor Bonnie J. Whittier officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Jefferson Cemetery immediately following the service. Viewings will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
