YORK Robert L. "Bob" Knaub, 73, died at 10 p.m. on Wednesday October 30, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Helen L. (Druck) Knaub of Hallam. Helen and Bob celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on November 21, 2012. Bob was born in Hallam to the late Curvin W. Knaub, Sr. and the late Hester (Miller) Knaub. Bob retired as a machinist from Caterpillar Tractor Co. with 24 years of service and prior to that he worked for American Chain and Cable and South Pine Nightwear. Bob was a true outdoorsman. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. His quarry ranged from Deer to Antelope and Marlin to Tuna. He loved to cook and passed all of his favorite pastimes on to his children and his grandson, Michael. He was a member of the Snake Pit Rod and Gun Club in Tioga County. In addition to his loving wife Helen, Bob is survived by a son, Alan R. Knaub and his wife, Phonphay "Kay" of Hallam; and a daughter, Lori A. Zimmerman and her husband, Gene of Elizabethtown. Also surviving are seven grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by three brothers, Curvin Jr., Rodger and Ronald Knaub; and a sister, Linda Knaub. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday November 5, 2013, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service 1111 E. Market St., York, PA 17403. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. till the time of the service at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Leon Via, III., a chaplain with White Rose Hospice will officiate.
