RED LION Robert L. Stine, 79, (Pappy) as he was affectionately called by family, passed on February 6, 2013, after a very very long courageous battle with GBS and cancer. He was the husband of Janet (Gladfelter) Stine with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. He was born on September 12, 1933, in Red Lion, a son of the late Lafean Lowell and Pearl (Clark) Stine. Robert was known as an expert salt and freshwater fisherman. He started his career of engineering at York Ice and Machinery in 1952 and retired from Borg Warner in 1990 after forty years. Robert is survived by his wife, Janet Stine of Red Lion; two sons, Rick Stine and wife, Bozena of Lewisberry and Jeff Stine and wife, Yvonne "Gabby" of Red Lion; he was the proud grandfather of three grandchildren, Justin, Lowell, and Roobie Stine. Pappy was a life member of the Red Lion B.P.O.E. Lodge 1592, the Red Lion American Legion and the Victory Club. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the Red Lion American Legion Post 543, 23 East Broadway, Red Lion, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. Family and friends will be officiating.
