Robert L. "Bob" Strausbaugh Obituary
Strausbaugh YORK Robert L. "Bob" Strausbaugh, 91, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Thelma M. (Miller) Strausbaugh with whom he celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 19th. Mr. Strausbaugh was born in York, on October 3, 1921, son of the late Jonas and Elizabeth (Sturgeon) Strausbaugh. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII, in the 8th Air Force; 392 Bomber Group in England, as a Radio/Radar Operator. Robert was employed by the former Certainteed Roofing as the Safety/ Personnel Director and Traffic Manager. Bob attended Manchester Assembly of God. He was a member of the Pleasurville American Legion Post 799, V.F.W. Post 556 and the AARP. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert L. Strausbaugh II and his wife, Barbara of Florida; two grandchildren, LeAn McFatter and Troy Strausbaugh; three great-grandchildren, Lyndsay McFatter, Aaron McFatter and Logan Strausbaugh; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Iris E. Snyder. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be Pastor Tom Gilman. Final resting place will be in Shiloh Cemetery with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. There will be a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Manchester Assembly of God, 4115 Board Rd., Manchester, PA 17345.
