DOVER Rose Elizabeth "Betty" Sipe Gracey, 84, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Colonial Manor, York. She was the widow of Branton G. Gracey, Sr. Born May 23, 1928, in Freeland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles Webster and Lora Belle (Williams) Sipe. Rose was a seamstress at South Pine Nightwear and retired from Danskin. She also made many wedding dresses and prom gowns for family and friends. Rose was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, York Hospital Chapter for more than 23 years. She was also a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and a volunteer for Chapel at York Hospital. Rose is survived by a son, Branton G. Gracey, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Dover; grandchildren, Belinda Eyster and husband, Wayne of York, Georgia Gracey of Dover, and Lora Gracey of Dover; great-grandson, Nathan Gantz of York; a brother, Sam Sipe of New Jersey; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ruth Pascoe. Celebration of Life at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church, 85 Old Church Lane, Hellam. Pastor Marion Haynes-Weller will officiate. There will be a Fellowship following the service in the church social hall. Interment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rose's memory to the American Red Cross - York Chapter, 724 S. George St., York, PA 17401.
