DOVER Roy J. 'Bud' Ferry, 83, entered into rest at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Doris J. (Copenheaver) Ferry for 63 years. Born in Dover Twp., on September 1, 1929, Roy was the son of the late Guy R. and Edna (Rodgers) Dubbs. He was a self employed general contractor for many years and retired from Kline's Septic Service. Bud was a member of New Creation Community Church, Dover Fire Company, Dover Ambulance, and Dover Fish and Game. The celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 5005 Carlisle Road, Dover, with the Rev. Sterling Walsh, Jr. and the Rev. Cathy Boileau officiating. The viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ferry is survived by nine children, Ruth Lightner, Joyce Page and husband, John, Roy E. Ferry and wife, Bonnie, and Cheryl Burger and husband, Dave, all of Dover, Donna Lucia and husband, Benjamin of York New Salem, Gregory Ferry and wife, Terri of Hampton, Va., Brian Ferry and wife, Kelli, Wanda Feight and husband, Michael, and Douglas Ferry and wife, Johnna, all of Dover; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Hartman of Dover, Helen Weitkamp of North Carolina, Shirley Fox of Florida, and Carol Garner of Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Phillip E. Lightner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Union Fire and Hose Company #1 of Dover, 30 E.
