GLEN ROCK Russell J. Frederick, 89, formerly of White Hall, Md., died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at his son's home. He was the husband of the late Jean L. (Graper) Frederick. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 5, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. The service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the mortuary with Pastor Michael Adams officiating. Following cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family. Born September 10, 1922, in Pittsburgh, Russell was the son of the late Milford J. and Alma (Roush) Frederick. Mr. Frederick served with the Civilian Conservation Corps during WWII. He was a painter for 32 years with Conomos Industrial Painting, working at the Bethlehem Steel Plant, Sparrows Point, Md. Russell was a member of the Local Painters Union #1, Baltimore, Md. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings and woodworking. He is survived by a son, Jim Frederick and his companion, Bess Lieberman of Glen Rock; a daughter, Donna Buckingham and her husband Wayne of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren, Joanne Frederick, James C. Frederick, Dana McFadden, Christopher R. Frederick, and Stephen D. Frederick; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Stout of Pittsburgh and Betty Cook of Williamson, N.Y. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Ronnie Frederick.
