Ruth N. Carman, born to Elsie Smith and Bruce Laird on June 9, 1930, in Dover Twp., passed away to abide with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 15, 2014. She was the widow of Lamar Carman, with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage. She leaves her son, Chris and his wife, Glenda of New Freedom; and a brother, George and his wife, Ruth Anna of York. She was one of nine siblings, seven of whom are now with their parents in heaven, by the grace of Jesus. They include David, Paul, Walter, Kenneth, and Robert Laird, Catherine Mundus, and Laona Bear. Ruth attended Rohlers one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Dover High School in 1946. She was a Sunday school teacher, Den Mother, and assisted her husband as Director of Pen-Mar Youth for Christ for 17 years. She worked at American Insulator and AMP as a mold operator. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 5 p.m. at Glenview Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Seven Valleys on York Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glenview Church, Seven Valleys; or Mason Dixon Youth for Christ, Hanover. Arrangements by Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania, Inc.
