YORK Samuel Eugene "Red" Maxfield, 70, entered into rest on Monday, September 17, 2012, from the York Hospital surrounded by family. He was the husband of Tyna (Bull) Maxfield. Born on January 14, 1942, in York, he was the son of the late Reba Mae (Bones) and Eugene James Maxfield. Mr. Maxfield attended York City Schools and was employed by various companies as a laborer. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and was known for his laughter and big smile. Samuel leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tyna Maxfield; a daughter, Ronielle Kirkland; children of love - a son, Keith Bull, and a daughter, Christina Bull; seven granchildren, Q'ajaniyah, Mikey, Julius, LaRon, Uziah, Quidir, and Alexus; a godson, Flair Griggs; a sister, Barbara "Sis" Chalk and companion, John; a brother, Charles "Chuck" Maxfield, Sr.; and a host of family including nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by sisters, Regina "Snook" Washington and Gail Orr; and brothers, Harold Maxfield, Sr., Patrick Maxfield, Sr., and Barry Maxfield, Sr. The viewing will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St., York. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 5 p.m.
