SPRING GROVE Sandra L. (Mathias) Carl, 73, passed away on December 15, 2013, at Manor care North in York. She was the loving wife of Daniel E. Carl who passed away on August 22, 2013. Sandy was born in Spring Grove on November 30, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Erma (Hinkle) Mathias. She attended Spring Grove High School and was a dedicated pharmacy tech for West York Pharmacy for over 30 years. She was a member of Mt. Zion UCC Church in Spring Grove, Friendship Hose Co.#1, Glatco Credit Union, Windy Hill Senior Center, Twin Rose Good Samaritan Club, Papertown Inn Ladies Bowling Team, for whom she played for in the National Bowling Tournaments for the past 30 years. She is survived by her sons, Daniel E. Carl II and wife Kelly of Dover, Neal A. Carl and his companion Beth Hengst of Spring Grove; her grandchildren, Brittney O'Brien and husband Jimmy, Airman First Class Abigail Carl, Danielle Rebert and husband Luke, Keenan Carl and her great-grandchildren, Ayden O'Brien and Ryder Rebert. She is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn Schrum and husband Allen and Brenda Leach and husband William and her brother P. Timothy Mathias and wife Karen.She was predeceased by her son Jason M. Carl. Following cremation, a memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 175 N Main St., Spring Grove with Dr. Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, Main St., Spring Grove PA 17362. Condolences may be shared at www.irwinbeck.com
