YORK Shirley M. (Freeze) Eppley, 87, died on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at home. She was the wife of Daryl L. Stull, Sr., who predeacesed her in March of 1981, after 32 years, and Philip Eppley, Sr., who entered into rest in 2008. Born in Bloomsburg on December 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John Freeze, Sr., and Grace (Whitenight) Freeze Karns. She was a 1937 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in York. During her lifetime she was an active member of The League of Women Voters, founding member of The Cotillion in York, original member of The Outdoor Club, Red Lion Country Club and the York Country Club. She was a lover of life and loved reading and was always trying to pass on tips from her searching mind. She was, in later life, an avid follower of Politics and the news channel. Always wanting to be up on what was happening. Shirley is survived by two sons, Daryl L. Stull, II and his wife, Linda, and John (Joedy) E. Stull and his partner, Ruth; a brothers, Ron Freeze and his wife, Randy of Dallas, Texas; her brother, John Freeze, Jr., predeceased her in January of 2011. Shirley remained close friends with Pat, John's widow. She is also survived by grandchildren, Heather Stull, Bryan Stull and his wife, Johanna; and step granddaughter, Erin McCullough; and three great-grandchildren, Kali, Wyatt, and Dakota; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mom always said beware of the diranscrooch! Shirley requested that private service for family only be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions honoring her memory can be made to any of the Cancer charities or the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and the New Book Fund at Martin Memorial Library.
