My condolences to the family of a wonderful man and teacher at York High. Many memories from his Advanced Biology and Micrrobiology classes, 1966-67. My favorite classes, prepared me for my college classes which couldn't compare to his.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Sis. Bud was instrumental in bringing me to York and teased me about bringing down the neighborhood when I moved onto S Kershaw. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest condolences to the Bankert family. I attended York High from 1978-1982 and Mr. Bankert was my principal. He was always kind, caring and went the extra mile for his kids (students). I oftentimes speak of how he gave me my first job at Penn State - York Campus the summer of 1980. Whenever I was sent to his office (which in 9th & 10th grade seemed to be often), he would always hear me out and then in his humble way, he would scold me and tell me that I could do so much more. He was a friend to my grandfather (Wm. Hall "Hallie") and was familiar with my family background. It brings tears to my eyes just writing this because nowadays the kids don't have teachers/administrators who care the way he did. May God bless and strengthen you all during this time.

My heart is with you! Had the extreme pleasure and honor to have your husband/father as my Advanced Biology teacher 43 years ago! His patience, motivation, knowledge, caring, sense of humor, and bravery (to allow each of us to have a scalpel) was outstanding! He was such an enormous influence to many!! May your sorrow be soften by knowing sooooo many of us cared for him and appreciate him and his calling to be educator! May he be at peace!
