ABBOTTSTOWN Vincent J. Breighner, 81, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Helen L. (Crawford) Breighner, who died March 11, 1994. Vincent was born September 4, 1932, in Abbottstown, the son of the late Vincent F. and Edith V. (Lingg) Breighner. Vincent was a member of the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, Abbottstown Fire Company and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local #430. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing dominos, eating at 81 Diner, bowling, hunting and woodworking. Vincent is survived by two sons; Rickie A. Breighner, Sr and his wife, Iva of Abbottstown, and Michael W. Breighner and his wife, Wanda of Mt. Wolf; three daughters, Deborah J. Robinson and her husband, Michael of New Oxford, Patricia A. Sieg and her husband, Eric of New Oxford, and Katharine M. Chrismer and her husband, Randall of Abbottstown; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Agnes R. Gladfelter of Littlestown, and Blanche C. Byers of New Oxford. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry K. Flasher; a son-in-law, Gerald Flasher; and four sisters, Estella Reynolds, Grace Breighner, Sarah Swindall and Emma Wallet. A Liturgy of the Word service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 W. Canal Rd, Abbottstown with Deacon Joseph Sferrella officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. At the family's request, please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA/Hospice, 440 N. Madison St, Hanover, PA 17331 or to United Hook & Ladder #33, 21 N. Bolton St, New Oxford, PA 17350. Serving as pallbearers will be Rickie Breighner, Jr, Justin Robinson, Adam Sieg, Tyler Sieg, Gared Chrismer, Ethan Chrismer and Zack Strausbaugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Breighner, Matthew Flasher and Arron Flasher. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.
