WINDSOR Violet V. Cook, 94, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, October 8, 2012 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Anthony L. Cook Sr., who passed away September 23, 1989. Born June 3, 1918 in Felton, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Florence (Smith) Fishel. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Cook will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 West Main Street, Dallastown, with Rev. Rick Stuempfle officiating. An opportunity to view and share memories will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Windsor Cemetery. Mrs. Cook is survived by three children, Phyllis Daugherty of York Haven, Anthony L. Cook Jr. of York, and Robert G. Cook of Red Lion; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister. She had been employed as a seamstress for many years and also did sewing and alterations from her home for many years. Mrs. Cook's family has suggested that in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory be made to the , York County Memorial Fulfillment Center, 777 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
