YORK Wilford B. Fourhman, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, Del. He was the husband of the late Erdean M. (Beaverson) Fourhman, to whom he was married over 30 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held Monday, March 17, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with Pastor Sayward Lippincott officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born August 19, 1930, in York, Wilford was the son of the late William Chester and Alta Alverta (Amspacher) Fourhman. He worked as senior quality analyst at Precision Components Corporation until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Fourhman proudly served our country in the Army 5th Infantry as a signal message clerk during the Korean War. Wilford had been residing in Delaware the last three years with his daughter, Carol, and her husband, Terry, working on polishing his fishing skills. He was also an avid Eagles fan, and loved sports, hunting, and crabbing. Mr. Fourhman was a lifetime member of both the Red Lion American Legion Post 543 and 13th Ward Political Club. He was also a member of the Hellam VFW Post #7045 and the Hawks Gunning Club. He was, however, the happiest being surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Fourhman is survived by two sons, William and his wife, Lorie Fourhman of Ohio, and James and his wife, Holly Fourhman of New York; three daughters, Kathy and her husband, John Trimble of Missouri, Carol and her husband, Terry Ziegler of Delaware, and Tina and her husband, Aaron Hill Senior of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Wilford was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Lucretia and Ida Jane; and an infant daughter, Linda Gail. Wilford will be dearly missed by his family. Memorial contributions may be made to Home of the Brave Foundation, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963; or Fisher House, Air Force Mortuary Affairs, Families of the Fallen Support Branch, 116 Purple Heart Drive, Dover AFB, DE 19902 (302) 677-2393.
