DOVER Zelma I. Smith, 94, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at her home. She was the wife of the late Richard C. Smith, Sr. Born January 13, 1919, in Dover Township, she was a daughter of the late Mervin M. and Mary (Shaffner) Spangler. Zelma had 26 years of service as a cook at Dover Intermediate School. She was previously employed by Century Ribbon Mill in York. She was a member of Mount Royal U.M. Church. Zelma enjoyed crocheting, needle point, cooking and baking. She is survived by daughter, Joan E. Seifert and husband, Harry of Kettering, Ohio, and their children, Heather Fugate and H. Allen Seifert, and daughter, Kimberly A. Julius and husband, Steve of York, and their daughters, Lindsay Julius and Lauren Hassinger; six great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Zelma was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Richard C. Smith, Jr.; and sisters, Evelyn Nelson and Fairy Edleblute. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Zelma's funeral at 1 p.m. and the visitation from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery in Dover. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Matthew J. Loyer. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Royal U.M.
