YORK Doris M. Chantiles, 87, of Manchester Township, died at 5:11 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Fred J. Chantiles. Born July 11, 1926, in York, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Sadie M. (Gibbons) Nace. Mrs. Chantiles retired in 1989 as Data Processing Manager of Root Corporation-New York Wire Company, where she was employed for 30 years, and where she had also served as treasurer of their credit union. She was a former Tax Collector for North York Borough, and after retirement worked as the office manager of her son's practice, Beech Tree Podiatry. She was a member of Fourth United Methodist Church, and had been a member of the former Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a life member of Order of The Eastern Star, White Rose Chapter #360, and was a former auxiliary member of Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #213. Mrs. Chantiles is survived by her longtime companion, Clark Dahlheimer; a daughter, Sharon M. Chantiles and her husband J. Kevin Wertz of York; a son, Dr. F. Don Chantiles of York; a daughter-in-law, Sherry C. Chantiles of York; and three grandchildren, Lance Chantiles-Wertz, Corey Chantiles, and Hollie Shortino and her husband Frank. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Oliver Nace. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Fourth United Methodist Church, 1067 E. Market St., York, with her Pastor, the Rev. Mitchell M. Galloway officiating. Viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Private burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
