Virginia M. Adomis Obituary
DOVER Virginia M. Adomis, 76, entered into rest at 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at her home. She was the loving wife of Peter P. Adomis, Jr. The couple celebrated 14 years of marriage in the summer of 2013. Born December 16, 1937, in Lancaster, Va., she was a daughter of the late Miriam (Seyler) Shetter. Virginia worked as an inspector for Standard Register and previously as an inspector for Cole Steel. She attended Dover Bethany U.M. Church. Virginia enjoyed gardening - especially roses, and was an avid ice skater. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Timothy Strouse and wife, Gretchen of Dillsburg; two daughters, Robin Mellott and husband, Brion of Yoe, and Vickie Miller of Dallastown; a stepson, Peter P. Adomis, III of Tampa, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Julie J. Adomis of Phillipsburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Borner; and two brothers, Robert Ganther and Donald Ganther, Jr. In addition to her mother, Virginia was preceded in death by a brother, George Ganther. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Virginia's funeral at 11 a.m and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014, at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens in Dover. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Leon Via, White Rose Hospice Chaplain. Memorial contributions may be made to York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406; or White Rose Hospice, 1412 Sixth Ave., York, PA 17403. The family would like to extend a special thank you to White Rose Hospice for their care and compassion.
