William C. Lucabaugh Obituary
GLEN ROCK William C. Lucabaugh, 88, died following a brief illness at Hanover Hospital on Saturday, February 15, 2014, the same date he married his late wife Treva J. (Werner) Lucabaugh 67 years ago. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Road, Glenville, with his pastor, the Rev. David W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Mr. Lucabaugh was born on June 17, 1925, in Codorus Township, a son of the late William C. and Pauline C. (Hoffman) Lucabaugh. He served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in England and the Philippines. He retired from P.H. Glatfelter Paper Company, Spring Grove, where he was employed as a machine operator for over 33 years, and had also farmed for most of his life in the Manheim Township area. William was a member of Black Rock Church of the Brethren and the Sunday School of the church. He also held memberships in the Quarter Century Club of P.H. Glatfelter and the Maryland Steam Historical Society, the Early American Steam Historical Society and several other Antique Steam and Farm Machinery Organizations. He is survived by two daughters, Elaine A. "Gus" Nafe and her husband, Keith of Glen Rock, and Shelly L. Miller and her husband, Dan of Glen Rock; two sons, William C. Lucabaugh, Jr. of Pottsville, and Jerry E. Lucabaugh and his wife, Beth of Glen Rock; three grandchildren, Chad, Ben, and Sarah Lucabaugh; a step grandson, David Miller; three great-grandchildren, Nick, William and Hunter Lucabaugh; three sisters, Norma Riley of Glen Rock, Margaret Ebaugh of Mimbres, N.M., and Nancy Pugh of Satsuma, Fla.; three brothers, Elmer Lucabaugh of Glen Rock, Frank Lucabaugh of Ellicott City, Md., and Larry Lucabaugh of Dallastown. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Lucabaugh and three brothers, George Lucabaugh, Roman Lucabaugh Sr. and Artie Lucabaugh.
