YORK William S. Eisenhart, Jr., Esq., 100 1/2 , of Spring Garden Township, died at 3:22 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Hazel (Laity) Eisenhart. Born August 17, 1913, in York, he was a son of the late William S. Eisenhart, DDS, and the late Lucy (Forry) Eisenhart. A graduate of Princeton University and the University Of Pennsylvania Law School, he practiced law from 1940 until June 2013. He was a member of the York County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations. Attorney Eisenhart also served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1946, separating as a First Lieutenant, Corps of Engineers, Special Agent, Counterintelligence Corps, assigned to the Hanford Engineering Works (Manhattan Project). He was a former council president of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, past president of the York Foundation, York County Council of Social Agencies, York County Bar Association, Rotary Club of York, and the York County Estate Planning Council. He was also a former trustee and director of York Hospital; York YMCA; York YWCA; Gettysburg College; Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary; LCA Pension Board; Historical Society of York County; Lutheran Social Services, South Region; Children's Home of York; Easter Seal Society; York County SPCA; Mpala Wildlife Foundation in Kenya; the former York County Academy; Spring Garden Township; and York Suburban School District. He was an honorary member of the York County Chamber of Commerce and a life member of the York County Agricultural Society. He was also a member of The Country Club of York, former Lafayette Club, Princeton Club of New York, Nassau Club (Princeton), The Pennsylvania Society, and the former Newcomer Society. Attorney Eisenhart is survived by a son, Christopher C. Eisenhart, Jr. of York. He was also preceded in death by two sons, William S. Eisenhart, III and John J. Eisenhart; a brother, Forry Eisenhart; and two sisters, Susan Schilling and Lucy Eisenhart. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, 25 W.
