DOVER Paul L. Beam, Jr., 75, entered into rest at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Manor Care North. He was the loving husband of Shirley A. (Crone) Beam. The couple celebrated 45 years of marriage on May 28, 2013. Born June 15, 1938, in York, he was a son of the late Paul L. Beam, Sr. and Velma I. (Latchaw) Staubs, and a step-son of the late Samuel L. Staubs. Paul was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had 35 years of service as a roofer for D.E. Street Roofing in York and S & S Construction in Manchester. He later worked for Shiloh Nurseries. Paul was a lifetime member of East Berlin VFW Post 8896. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and sports. In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by seven children, Michelle M. Hornbeck, Donald E. Beam, Christopher A. Beam, and their spouses, all of Dover, Betsy Kustra, Penny McGroarty, Melissa Hutchins, Melinda Luitich, and their spouses, all of Virginia Beach, Va.; fifteen grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister; and a step-brother. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Paul's funeral at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. There will be viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens where veteran's honors will be presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie J.
