MOUNT WOLF William E. Kirby, 69, of East Manchester Township, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Cheryl L. (Doll) Kirby. Born August 6, 1944, in Pottsville, a son of the late Wesley and Grace (Dewald) Kirby, he was retired as a machinist for Caterpillar, Inc., and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was a former volunteer for Union Fire Company No. 1, North York Ambulance Club, and York Habitat for Humanity, and had served as treasurer of Northeastern Food Bank. He also served in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his wife of 47 years, Mr. Kirby is survived by a daughter, Heather J. Kirby of York; a son, Mark D. Kirby of Sinking Springs; and a sister, Wanda Leader of Troy, Ala. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church, 2215 Brandywine Lane, York, with The Rev. Dr. Janyce Jorgenson officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the services. Private burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S.
