STRINESTOWN Anna M. Weirich, 90, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Ernest H. Weirich. Born May 8, 1923, in York, a daughter of the late Fred and Sarah (Ness) Hengst, she was a member of Strinestown United Brethren in Christ Church, as well as the TOPS Club that met at the Church. In addition to her husband of 67 years, Mrs. Weirich is survived by three sons, Larry D. Weirich, and his wife Carol, of Manchester, Joseph H. Weirich, and his wife Ruth, of York Haven, and Bradley E. Weirich of York; two daughters, Cheryl A. Pfeifer of Dover, and Diane E. Smith, and her husband Howard, of Dover; four grandchildren, Robert E. Pfeifer, III, Dana L. Axe, Stacy L. Burkins, and Shane M. Smith; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Keera, Sara, Lily, and Emma; one great-great-granddaughter, Arianna; a brother, Fred Hengst of Newberrytown; and two sisters, Elsie Stine of Jacobus, and Lillian Ness of York. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Marlin Hengst, and two sisters, Helen Keeny and Mildred Bowman, and her son-in-law, Robert E. Pfeiffer, Jr. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York, with her Pastor, The Rev. Dawn I. Spangler, officiating. Viewings will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Strinestown Cemetery.
