MYERSTOWN Theresa Bentzel of StoneRidge Village in Myerstown, passed away on March 11, 2014, at age 98. She was the wife of the late Richard Bentzel to whom she was married for 62 years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. from Shiloh UCC, 2251 Willow Road, York. Viewing at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery, York. Also, a memorial service will be held at StoneRidge Village at a later date. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has charge of the arrangements. Theresa was born May 4, 1915, in Creagerstown, Md., to the late Bert and Pansy (Fogle) May. She was raised in York County and graduated from Dover High School in 1933. She and Richard married in 1936, and later raised their three daughters in several locations: York, Baltimore, Md., Red Lion, Michigan, Fla., and Dayton, Ohio. She managed the family grocery store, and later worked in retail sales in Michigan and Ohio. She enjoyed volunteering many hours at Kettering Hospital in Ohio. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and corresponding with friends she had made over 60 years as she moved around the country. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly and husband Glenn Kinard of Allentown, and Barbara J.D. and husband David Quam of Lexington, Ky.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Theresa was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda M. Richter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion U.M. Church, 22 E. Main Avenue, Myerstown, PA 17067; or
