YORK Wayne L. Warner, 86, formerly of Windsor Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Rest Haven Nursing Home. He was the loving husband of the late Virginia A. (Schmuck) Warner, who passed away on October 11, 2002. Mr. Warner was born December 7, 1927, in Windsor Township. He was the son of the late Ernest and Esther Mae (Baker) Warner. Wayne was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. with the military police. He was a woodworker for the Trojan Yacht Company in Lancaster and retired after more than 30 years of service. Prior to working there, he was employed by the Kaltreider Box Factory. He was a former member of the former Bittersville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Conway and her husband Joel of York; his grandson, Noah Conway; his two brothers, Larry Warner of Windsor and Gene Warner of Red Lion; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Ernest Warner. A funeral service to honor Wayne's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with the Rev. Gary Daugherty officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
