YORK NEW SALEM Miriam E. Emig, formerly of Seven Valleys, died April 14, 2014 at Manor Care North. She was 89. Miriam was the wife of the late Ervin M. Emig who passed on March 9, 1995. Born in W. Manchester Twp., on December 19, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Willis and Mamie (Gettys) Adams. She retired from Stauffer Biscuit Co. after 25 years employment. Prior she was employed with South Pine Nightwear for 25 years. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, other memberships include the Windy Hills Senior Center and the Leisure Club of Jacobus. She is survived by a son, Terry M. Emig and his wife, Cindy, of Dover; four grandchildren, Terri Sue Emig, Tony Scott Emig, Edward Anthony Washington and Tiffany Mae Washington; three great-grandchildren, Jarret Scott Emig, Carley Irene Emig and Edward James Washington; and a brother, Paul Adams of West York. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Trinity Rd. in York. The service will follow at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Officiating will be her pastors Reverend Paul W. Gausmann and Reverend Sara A. Gausmann. Burial will be private at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
