WRIGHTSVILLE Richard S. Mundis of Wrightsville entered into eternal rest after a lengthy illness on Sunday, April 20, at 5:40 a.m. at Manor Care Kingston at the age of 93. He was the husband of Janice V. (Dosch) Mundis of Wrightsville. He was born in Lower Windsor Twp. on February 27, 1921, and was the son of the late Edward L. and Reedie M. (Olewiler) Mundis. Richard was a Tool Crib Attendant at the former Caterpillar, Inc. in York, where he retired in 1983 after 10 years of service; a member of the Craley Fire Company #44, East Prospect Fire Company #42, Canadochly Valley Ambulance Club and AARP. Surviving are his wife, Janice of Wrightsville; a daughter, Tina L. Mundis of York; a step son, Michael Abel of York and his wife Sue; two granddaughters, Colleen Abel and Kelly Gipson; two great-grandchildren; a nephew, Terry Mundis of Craley; a niece, Lana Myers of Red Lion; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Mundis of Red Lion. There will be no viewing. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, will be assisting the family with the arrangements. A Graveside Service of Honor and Praise for Richard will be at 10 a.m. on Wed., April 23 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to meet at the entrance to the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. to join the procession. The Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach, pastor of Bethlehem Stonepile-Springvale United Methodist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to: Canadochly Valley Ambulance Club, 45 S. Main St., East Prospect, PA. 17317; or to Craley Fire Company #44, 73 New Bridgeville Road, Wrightsville, PA 17368; or to East Prospect Fire Company #42, 11 W. Ridge Avenue, East Prospect PA 17317. Richard was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He and Janice married on December 28, 1955, celebrating 58 years together. Richard enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family.
