ETTERS Charles E. Ort, Jr., 53, passed away at 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Jean D. (Lehr) Ort of Etters. Charles was born September 17, 1960 in York and was the son of the late Charles, Sr., and Melva (Mansberger) Ort. He worked for M. Potteiger, Inc. of York for over 18 years as a roofer. He was a member of the Goldsboro Fireman's Club and the Wago Club. Charles was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed animals and the river. In addition to his wife, Jean, Charles is survived by his two sons, Zach Ort of Wellsville, Chad Strausbaugh and his wife, Kathy of Palmyra; his two daughters, Jeanie Rigney and her husband Robert of Mechanicsburg and Angela Eyler of Dillsburg; seven grandchildren, Cory, Mason, Jeremie, Colin, Brendon, Alex and T.J.; his three brothers, Darrell Ort, Paul Ort, and Mike Ort all of York Haven; and his two sisters Nancy Brenner and Lisa Foust both of York Haven. His memorial service will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014 at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Officiating at his service will be Dr. Edmund Miller.
