COLUMBIA Janet R. (Smith) French, 91, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Columbia. She was the wife of the late John O. French, to whom she was married over 40 years. A Graveside Tribute Service will be held Monday, May 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Craley Cemetery, Lower Windsor Township. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Born July 1, 1922, in Lower Windsor, Janet was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Verna (Kiser) Smith. Mrs. French worked in manufacturing at Maple Press and Windsor Sewing Factory. Janet enjoyed gardening and flowers and loved her dogs. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Mrs. French is survived by a niece, Carol Courts of Hellam; four nephews, William Mittel of Hellam, Joe Mittel of York, Shane Mittel of Hellam, and Brett Mittel of Hellam; and a sister-in-law, Mary Mittel.
