RED LION Hilda A. (Taylor) Goheen, 85, entered into eternal rest after a brief illness on Monday, May 5, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Kenneth R. Goheen, who entered into rest on October 15, 2012. She was born in Red Lion, on August 20, 1928, and was the daughter of the late John Donnell and Martha Ellen (Bacon) Taylor. Hilda worked in administration in the parts department at the former Catepillar of York, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion and a member of Rainbow Chapter #517, Order of the Eastern Star in Red Lion. She and her late husband, Ken, spent 19 winters in Florida and she loved playing golf. She was very proud to have accomplished getting two holes- in-one. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are a daughter, Hollyann M. Smith of Brogue and husband, Michael; two grandchildren, Mindy Zook of Mifflintown and Steven Smith of York; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ross B. Taylor of York, Merle Taylor of Freysville, and a sister- Betty Lou Neff of Red Lion; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jed Smith in 2010, and a brother, Dwight Taylor. There will be a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 1st Ave., Red Lion. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, will be assisting the family with the arrangements. A Service of Honor and Praise for Hilda will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday at the church with her pastor, the Rev. Lenore Hosier, officiating. Burial will be at Red Lion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 1st Ave., Red Lion, PA 17356.
