YORK Joyce M. (Heiner) Gladfelter, 80, passed away at 7:43 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, at Manor Care Kingston Court. She was the wife of Albert M. Gladfelter, Jr., who passed away on February 11, 2009. Joyce was born June 19, 1933, in York, and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Louella (Schlosser) Heiner. She worked for over 34 years with Keystone Weaving Mills in York before retiring in 1985. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shiloh American Legion. Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Wendy Holder and her husband, David of Mount Wolf, and Diane Autry and her husband, Ed of Lakewood, Colo.; her stepdaughter, Shirley DiRuscio of Spring City, Pa.; her four sons, Donald Smith and his wife, Mary Jane of Dover, Michael Smith and his wife, Linda of Dover, Barry Smith and his companion, Sue Seiple of York, and Timothy Smith and companion, Tammy Hedrick of York; her stepson, Albert Gladfelter, III of Dover; her 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and her two sisters, Saundra Pullaro of Sun City, Fla., and Sharon Merritt of Riverview, Fla. Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Delmas Heiner. Her memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery. Officiating at her service will be The Rev. Philip Nace.
