YORK S. Elizabeth (Baeckel) Wineholt, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Manor Care North in York. She was the loving wife of the late Clyde B. Wineholt, who passed away in 1987. Elizabeth was born in Lower Chanceford Twp. in York County on August 20, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Norman and Anna (Fisher) Baeckel. She was a homemaker most of her life. She attended Bethel United Methodist Church in Brogue and was a former member of the New Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Co. She is survived by her son, Gary C. Wineholt and wife June of York; her grandsons, Gary C. Wineholt, Jr. and James Wineholt; her step-granddaughters, Tammy Hirschhorn and Cathy Scaruzzi; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a step-great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by her step-grandson, Gary L. Workinger; her brothers, Arthur Baeckel and Roy Krouse; and her sister, Betty June Gleim. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, 1766 Furnace Road, Brogue, PA with the Rev. Nate Conklin officiating. Family services are under the direction of Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove.
