Glenn F. Grove Obituary
RED LION Glenn F. Grove, 92, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Betty J. (Dellinger) Grove. The couple had been married for over 65 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with the Rev. Donald R. Belch officiating. Viewings will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on September 25, 1921, in Felton, he was a son of the late W. Oscar and Lillie B. (Baughman) Grove. Glenn was a home builder for over 50 years. Mr. Grove was a paratrooper who served in Europe during WWII with the 17th and 82nd Airborne Divisions. He was awarded a Purple Heart, Parachute Wings Badge, and the Combat Infantry Badge. Glenn enjoyed deer hunting. Most importantly, he was devoted to his late wife and family. Mr. Grove is survived by four sons, Larry G. Grove of York, Kevin S. Grove of Red Lion, Keith W. Grove and his wife, Shelby of York, and Brent A. Grove and his wife, Ursula of Madison, Ala.; two daughters, Karen A. Striebig of Red Lion, and Nancy L. Roach and her husband, Scott of York; six grandchildren, Ian I. Grove, Breanna M. Lewis and her husband, Ryan, Gavyn Grove, Nathan A. Grove, Carsten Grove, and Kristin N. Grove; and two great-grandchildren, Naomi D. Kuhlman and Wyntre E. Grove.
