DOVER Mark Alan Geiger, 58, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at York Hospital with his precious companion Jamie Sevell by his side, surrounded by his family Born on April 7, 1956, in York, he was the son of Robert and Joan Geiger of Dover. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Bigelow and her husband, Robert and their two children, Robert Jr. and Gabriella of West York. Mark had four siblings, Gwen Baer of York, Joel Geiger and wife Angie of Dillsburg, David Geiger of York and Beth Hoke of Florida. He was the proud uncle of 10 nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews. He was also the nephew of Carolyn and Douglas Conley of York, Robert and Esther Brenneman of Hershey, and Ken and Yvonne Geiger of Codorus. Preceded in death were his grandparents, Curvin and Cora Brenneman; and grandmother, Mary Smith. Mark attended Northeastern High School and Computer Technical School in Harrisburg. He worked for Martin Marietta Computer Division in Maryland and went on to live by the beaches in Florida, where he met Jamie, and she has been by his side ever since, along with Miss Wilma, rescued from the Ft. Myers Greyhound Track. Some of Mark's passions included horse racing and dogs. He worked as an attendant and groomer in horse farms at Middleburg, Va. He also enjoyed reading, science, history and computers. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 12 p.m. at Rocky Ridge Park, White Oaks Pavillion. We invite family and friends to celebrate his life with us. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mark's name to the York Rescue Mission, 362 W, Market St., Unit 2, York, PA 17401.
