YORK Miriam E. Cooper, 97, died on Monday, June 2, 2014, at Manor Care South - York. She was the wife of the late Richard D. Cooper. Born in York, on December 10, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Horace P. and Sally Gohn (Strickler) Keller. Miriam was a homemaker and worked with Canadochly Catering. She was a member of Canadochly Evangelical and Reformed Church. Miriam is survived by two daughters, Marian Miller and her husband, Gregory of York, with whom she lived, and Darlene Tome and her husband, Lucian, Jr. of York; a son, Roger Cooper and his wife, Cindy of Windsor; a sister, Edith Smeltzer of York; a sister-in-law, Mary Keller of York; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a toddler daughter, Linda Lou Cooper; three sisters, Isabelle Kopp, Rachael Smeltzer, and Mary Gilbert; and a brother, Clair Keller. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, Inc., 700 Hellam St., Wrightsville. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Canadochly Cemetery.
