YORK TWP. Mary E. (Kauffman) Zarfoss, 90, formerly of Dallastown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, at York Hospital from complications sustained in a car accident. She was the beloved wife of Celester D. Zarfoss for 59 years, until his passing in February of 2000. Mrs. Zarfoss was born in York, on July 7, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Edgar E. and Emma J. (McGurk) Kauffman. Mary enjoyed baking and cooking. She cooked for many restaurants in York County including the Red Lion Community House, Donakers, and Altand's Restaurant in York. She was a life member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown and a life member of the Dallastown Ladies Auxiliary. Mary is survived by her son, Philip Zarfoss and his wife, Debra of Dallastown; and her daughter, Norma J. Zarfoss of Linfield; as well as her "second family", the Fullers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and her good friends at Springwood Overlook and Bethlehem United Methodist Church. A viewing will be held at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 E. Main St., Dallastown 17313 on Monday, June 9, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will begin with the Rev. Roger Mentzer officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 E. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313; or to the Dallastown Fire Company Auxiliary, 50 S.
