YORK Blanche L. Schrum, 95, entered into God's eternal care, Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Columbia Cottages, Hanover. Born September 18, 1918 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Daniel A. and Celesta (Rohrbaugh) Rebert. Blanche was the loving wife of the late Harold Schrum who died in 1989, the late Ralph Stump, the late Clarence Gladfelter who died in 1957. Blanche spent many years as a housewife, but also worked as a foreman for AMF for thirteen years, until she retired in 1981. Blanche was a member of the Arlington Evangelical Congregational Church in Red Lion. She was also a member of the A.A.R.P. #2322 of East York, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Red Lion. Blanche is survived by her son, Arthur H. Gladfelter of Hanover; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Doanld and Dale Schrum and one brother, Henry Rebert and one sister, Ruthanna Matthias. A service to celebrate and remember Blanche's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, PA, with Rev. Sterling I. Trimmer, Jr. officiating. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bartholomew's United Church Cemetery, Hanover. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Blanche may be made to the Arlington Evangelical Congregational Church, 585 Lombard Rd, Red Lion, PA 17356.
