YORK Gerald E. Ruth, Jr., 70, entered into rest on Saturday at Manor Care South. He was the husband of Beth A. (Innerst) for 50 years. He was born September 3, 1943, in York, the son of Mary (Bolton) Ruth of York and the late Gerald E. Ruth, Sr. Gerald was a 1961 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. He retired from Caterpillar, having worked in the tool crib department. He was a member of the Viking AA. He was a basketball and softball player for various organizations in the area. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Yankees Fan. The services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Avenue, is assisting with arrangements. Including his wife and mother, Gerald is also survived by two children, Kelly Cannon of Issaquah, Wash. and Eric Ruth of Wrightsville; three grandchildren, Alexander Cannon, Victoria Cannon and Brooke Ruth; three siblings, Anne Kundert of Ohio, Jeffrey Ruth of Spring Grove and Alan Ruth of York.
