WINDSOR Preston L. Shoff entered into rest unexpectedly on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at York Hospital at the age of 74. He was the husband of DonnaJean F. (Smeltzer) Shoff of Windsor, who he married on April 17, 1960. Preston was born in York County on April 17, 1940, and was the son of the late Samuel and Reba (Brown) Shoff. Preston worked for the Carpenters Union for over 35 years. He enjoyed bluegrass music and guitar. Survivors include his wife, DonnaJean; a daughter, Debbie V. Schrum and husband Randy of Windsor; two sons, Preston L. Shoff, Jr. and wife Irene of Felton and Dennis E. Shoff and wife Dottie of Petersburg, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Randy Schrum, Jr., Sarah Schrum, Michael Schrum, and Loretta Hoover; eight great-grandchildren, Addisyn and Gracyn Hoover, Daija Carr, Jayden, Randy, Scarlet, and Maxine Schrum, and Gabriella Merkle; two sisters, Romaine Reisinger and Rosie Gohn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six siblings. A viewing will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Preston will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Steven A. Schmuck, pastor of Red Lion Bible Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Preston and DonnaJean spent 54 wonderful years together. He was a good man and a kind and loving husband and father.
