YORK Richard H. Houck, 84, entered into rest Monday June 16, 2014, at Manor Care South. He was the husband of Elaine L. (Massimore) Houck for 44 years. A visitation will be 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. The memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James Menkhus OFM Cap officiating. Private burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Mr. Houck was born October 8, 1929, in York, a son of the late Ephraim and Anna L. (Munchel) Houck. He was a retired route salesperson for Schmidt's baking Co. He was a 1949 graduate of York Catholic High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mary's Church. Richard was an avid golfer and a member of the former Red Lion Country Club. Richard is survived by his wife; children, Jeffrey T. Houck and his wife, Denise, Lynda M. Lamb and her husband Scott, and Deb Childers and her husband Kevin; grandchildren, Shane, Brenden, and Jordan Houck, Andrew, Anthony, and Rachael Thompson, Melissa Hersey, Ashley Brenneman, and Jeffrey Clemente; seven great-grandchildren. He was one of eight children and leaves his brothers, Phil, John, Tom, and Dave Houck. Richard was preceded in death by a son, Rick Houck II.; sisters, Helen Tillotson and Elaine Riccardi; and brother, Mike Houck. Memorial contributions may be made to ., 3544 N.
