RED LION Clair Paules, 87, died on Friday, June 20, 2014, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Doris M. (Barnhart) Paules. The couple planned to celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary on Aug 9. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Pastor Troy Harrold officiating. Viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on May 4, 1927, in Red Lion, he was the son of the late Sterling M. and Mary E. (Mitzel) Paules. Clair retired as a project engineer from Gichner Shelter Systems. Mr. Paules served our country for three years in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. Paules was a member of Adamsville U.M. Church. Clair was a former member of various groups throughout the area. He enjoyed traveling to the vacation home at Indian River, Del., boating, camping, hunting, fishing, wood projects, slot-car racing and go-cart racing. Clair enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, Doris, Clair is survived by one son, Stephen C. Paules and his wife, Cathy of Red Lion; two daughters, Connie S. King and her husband, Harry of Mt. Wolf and Kandy L. Paules-Sowards of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Christina Patterson and her husband, Shane, Matthew King, Mary Paules and Eric Paules; and two great-grandchildren, Taran and Camree Patterson.
